Project Overview Sewer System Improvements

This project consists of replacing the existing fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) weirs and baffles as well as the existing painted steel skimmer arms on Clarifiers 1 and 2 at the H.C. Morgan WPCF. The project will involve replacing the existing FRP weirs and baffles with stainless steel weirs and baffles that are not subjected to warping or corrosion.

The project has a total capital budget of $1,600,000.00 and is anticipated to finish by Oct 31, 2024.

The contract was awarded to Schmidt Environmental Construction by City Council on October 3, 2023. Contractor mobilized the week of May 13, 2024. Contractor has completed demolition of existing equipment in Clarifier No. 2, installed new stainless steel weirs and has begun installation of the baffles, skimmer arm and troughs in Clarifier No. 2.​
